2015 AUMA Convention Session

Communities are becoming increasingly urbanized, digital and connected. At the same time, citizen expectations, infrastructure needs, and cost pressures continue to rise. Municipalities have a tremendous opportunity in responding with smarter approaches—leveraging innovation, technology, and data to support efficiency and quality of life.

On September 22, 2015 at the TELUS Convention Center in Calgary, Alberta, the Alberta Smart City Alliance was pleased to offer a unique session for AUMA delegates focused on “Building Smart and Innovative Communities”.

The session featured leading Canadian Smart City experts Brian Purcell (IBM Canada), Ron Gordon (Cisco Systems) offering their insights and knowledge.

Best practices from the City of St. Albert and City of Lethbridge were also featured, showcasing their diverse Smart City initiatives, followed by an interactive discussion on achieving real results.
