The Alliance is no longer active.

The Alberta Smart City Alliance was established in April 2014 as a cross-sector collaboration between community leaders, forward-thinking governments, corporations, entrepreneurs, and academic innovators. At the time, the Alliance was the only organization dedicated to the advancement of innovative Smart City technological and data-based solutions to many of the complex issues facing Alberta municipalities.

The Alliance focused on the following strategic objectives:

  1. Creating a collaborative knowledge network in Alberta
  2. Awareness and promotion of Smart City applications, technologies, and best practices
  3. Acceleration of Smart City investments, research, testing, and the overall growth of Alberta’s Smart Cities marketplace

As these objectives were met, the Alliance initiative and the City’s facilitation role have been discontinued. As a result, the website has been archived as this initiative is no longer active.
