Who Founded and Who Leads the Alliance?
The Alberta Smart City Alliance would not have been possible without the visionary contribution of the City of St. Albert, University of Alberta, IBM Canada, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and Cisco Systems.
These organizations were the founders of the Smart City Alliance, and currently serve on its Executive Committee to continue to demonstrate committment to Smart Cities in Alberta. In 2017, the Executive Committee expanded to include the Cities of Edmonton and Calgary. This addition ensured that Alberta's two largest cities had a leadership position in the Alliance moving into the future.
The Alliance is also supported by a volunteer Executive Director, currently employed by the City of St. Albert, who oversees all activities of the Alliance and advances its numerous priorities.
